Guys,
Whew! You guys are definitely drawing me deeper into this story. Whatever the hell is going on, and wherever it's leading, I'm along for the ride, you betcha. I dig the surrealistic cigarette smoke, it's moody, man. "Whatchaneedman?" and "Back off, Keller!"... good effect from the blurring. Why not use it a little more, particularly blurring one panel into the next? Regardless, it's a cool look that contributes to the real, yet noir-ish feel of the book.
The story, though, is what's going to drive readers for the long haul. I can't wait to see what happens next in the search for the "bald man."
Wastedly yours,

Hi, John!
Enjoyed this issue a lot more than #1. Pace moved well, we got more info about the characters, what's going on. Still think the logo is cool but no one can read it, don't know if that will hurt sales (I think it might). Keep cover uncluttered, it's more striking that way (to me, anyway). Thanks for a look.

Claude's and Metro have been two of our biggest supporters, and actively carry a good variety of independents. Claude's is also a finalist for CBG's Retailer of the Year -- congratulations, guys.

Hey, Guys, I hated issue #1 but I found issue #2 excellent. The plot-line was decipherable and the photography really seemed to be a movie storyboard. Unfortunately most of my customers won't touch this book. Try adding superheroes (just kidding!)

I appreciate you taking the time to write, but I find it hard to believe that if you like the book, there aren't 2 or 3 people who walk into your comic shop that won't find this, or any given comic interesting and worth reading -- and that's all we need to make a living at this. Sure, you can't carry everything, but if you carry what you like and actively recommend books to customers who might like them too, a lot more artists will keep on publishing, and this medium might stay diversified and alive.

Great stuff. You must put a hell of a lot of work into that. Keep cranking it out.

Cool comic. I got busted checking it out while on the job. IT'S THAT GOOD. Back to my job I must go. And when no one is looking, I'll peek back at WASTE LA. See ya-

I'm very impressed! I've never seen a photo-comic that even came close to this in terms of quality. The writing, layout, and photography are all excellent, and the lettering and "effects" fit in seamlessly, instead of looking "tacked on." An excellent job all around!

Discoverin' your destroying comic. Just read few pages b't understood the Greatness. Makes me think about the Prince of my Nightmares: James Ellroy. It's a pity you need so much time to download it.
I'm an Italian Noir Writer, still unpublished by now. Workin' also on comics with an artist friend of mine, tryin' to do with Milan what you do with L.A.

JG,
Your cyber comic is brilliant. I'm very into the visuals. When I was growing up, I didn't care too much for the sci-fi comix. Now I can't take my eyes off of "Aeon Flux." I have become a rejuvenated R. Crumb fan. I was a fan back in the 70s but it was for the big tits and weed smokin' antics and not for the art's sake. Now I'm a little older, still liking big tits and smokin' the weed, but I'm wise enough to appreciate the master of the "baters." Anyhow, I just wanted to give my regards for your great work.

AWESOME! I just paged through issue 2 up to 14. It looks FANTASTIC! You have done an INCREDIBLE job. I gotta see it in print, but this works great, too! It loads up nice and fast, and it's fun to read.
Good job!

This from the guy who's got the coolest animated bits on the web I've seen. Go to http://www.artnet.net/~madscience and see what I mean.

I don't know what to say, I like comics. I also like photography. From what I've seen here, I think you've pulled this off nicely. I've checked out a couple of other Internet comics and wasn't impressed, but I can't say the same for Waste L.A. I can't wait to find out what happens next.

OK, I haven't finished reading it yet, I read 6 pages of # 1 while on the 'net. I'll order the printed copies of the books to see how it turns out, but I will tell you something: It is one of the best comics I've read in a long time. I'd put off reading it because I put off pretty much everything. Wish I hadn't now. I know I've not read much yet, but I was really blown away by it.
One final note, I was listening to Marilyn Manson: Smells Like Children while I read it, it makes a perfect soundtrack for your book.
Thanks,

Heya, John! You asked me to drop by your page and tell you what I thought, so I did and am! I think it's GREAT!
I also went by all of the other URLs I collected at APE, and none of 'em loaded anywhere near as fast as yours did, so I don't think you need to worry about speeding it up. The layouts are elegant and work just fine, the linking format is straightforward and easy to use - and the comic is terrific! You've done a great job of photography and manipulation and design, and it's a real page-turner of a story (and the pages turn fast) - had I seen it before the panel, I would have recommended it to everyone as an example of a really effective online comic!
I'd love to get you into the comics forums on Compuserve, if only cause that's my home and where my friends are. Consider it an invite to the local pub, I guess.
Pleased to meet you, and keep up the excellent work!

Yeah, I hear Compuserve's the happenin' place for comics talk. And when I finally do sign up for it, and get in there, drinks are on me.

Bill O'Neil was born with a guitar in one hand and a cigarette in the other. He letters books with guys in funny tights for Wildstorm to make his motorcycle payments and plays in the band Ferrous Weal for the sheer volume of it.

JG letters and designs virtually for Comicraft and is nearly always in front of a computer. What a dork. His grandmother beat him to the top of the bestseller list, (the Beardstown Ladies' Investment Club), and their second book comes out the same month as John's first.
